Blizzard has stated that 10 man raiding and 25 man raiding are meant to be separate progression paths ; i.e:
Heroics -> 10-man Naxx -> 10-man Maly -> 10-man Ulduar
Heroics -> 25-man Naxx -> 25-man Maly -> 25-man Ulduar
Meaning: 10-man gear is not a prerequisite for 25-man content.

I'd say let alts and achievement whores run their 10-man raids and mains only in 25-man raids.
