DiceKP Ulduar update!

As most of you know, I've created the addon DiceKP as a method to distribute loot that combines elements of DKP with the rolling system we use now. You start out by rolling out of 200 and each time you win an item you roll out of 50 less each time. So after you win one item you roll out of 150, then out of 100 etc. The number 200 does not really have any special significance and I can always change that if that is what people want.

The more important thing is that I believe that I have all the bugs worked out but that's probably what Blizzard thought when they released this patch. That is why for Friday's raid (4/17) I would like to have EVERYONE in raid be using it to make any fine tuning. I don't care if we actually distribute loot with it but I still want to have people "practice rolling" with it just to make sure things are working as they should and that it is appropriately lowering or raising peoples rolls when it should. The current version I put up is 3.1 and you can see what version you have now by typing /dikp help or /dicekp help. If the help screen doesn't say a version number then it is definitely an older one that I made before it told you what version you had. If you still aren't sure if you need to download it, do it anyways just to be sure. You can find it in the files section of the site and you install it just like any other addon.

I'm very open to adding more features as long as I can be convinced that they serve a useful purpose. For example, if someone wants it to keep a record of specifically which items were won rather than just the number of items won I will look into that but something like "make the window smaller" or "make the buttons a different color" will not be done because you don't need to have the window up for anything and therefore changing how it looks is pointless.

I look forwards to seeing everyone in raid!

EDIT: I made a small change and uploaded it again. It didn't show that there were any downloads so it shouldn't affect anyone but if you downloaded it before 5:00 PM EST today (4/17) then you need to update again, sorry.

These are the requirements to become a raider. (This iteration of the rules is in beta)

1. Signing up for raids 24 hours in advance (or decline if necessary) and showing up to the majority of CoL raids. You are either a Raider or you are NOT a raider. There is no in between.
A. The 24 hour rule only applies to regularly scheduled raids.
2. ALWAYS having all reagents, flasks (2), food (10), poisons, (rogue), ammo (All classes with ranged slot), etc, AND always being repaired.
A. This check is performed at the beginning of a raid

3. There will be a minimum DPS check performed on a target dummy for every single dps. The amount shall currently be 80% of your spreadsheet dps. This number WILL change when I decide hard numbers.
A. This test will be performed in a fully buffed raid WITHOUT a flask

4. Raid invites begin 15-20 minutes before raid. At 10 minutes prior to raid you will be replaced for someone who is more prepared. Only exceptions will be to people who notify the person who created the guild event in advance, and will not be more than 30 minutes late. Ideally pulls start at the scheduled raid time. This isn’t attainable EVERY time, but it WILL happen nearly every time. If you are constantly late you will be demoted back to knight.

5. If you have a computer that gets less than 20 fps in a raid, you are eligible to be raider, but you may be passed over for someone who doesn’t lag.

The purpose of this thread is to get an idea of what theme you all would like to see for the new guild ranks. There is no poll so just say what you think. I'll keep this post updated with everyone's ideas so they don't get lost.

Example:

Grand Master (GM)
Jedi Master (Officer)
Jedi Consular (Role Leaders)
Councilor or Council Member (Banker/Charter Member)
Jedi Knight (Raider)
Jedi Padawan (Non-Raider Mains)
Jedi Apprentice (Alts/Lowbies)

Edit: Moved to General Discussion and swapped two of the ranks and added one to make more sense.

Hey everyone!

Last night I was up late trying to figure out how link websites in the forums and have it show words that I wanted rather than the whole URL. One of the formats I was trying is actually the correct way, but for one reason or another, it wasn't working last night. Here is the proper format for linking a website and choosing what the link says:

URL=full website]Name of link[/URL

You have to add [ to the beginning and ] to the end in order for it to work; if I type in the full correct way then it converts it and you can't see what I did.

Enjoy!

And thanks to Esurion, Sorig, and Kahski for pulling their hair out with me trying to figure it out!

The following are highly recommended for raiding:

Welcome to Champions of Light!

Hopefully these forums can be a place to share ideas and keep in touch with the rest of our guild mates when we are away from WoW (God forbid!) :-P

Please make full use of this website, as I will be working hard to keep it up to date and make sure everyone is kept informed of of the latest news.

Enjoy!
